Vermont widow in Ohio

In the 1850 United States Federal Census, Joshua and Nancy Bliss, 79 and 68 years of age, were living in Calais, Vermont. I found the grave of Nancy Waldron Bliss (d. 1858) in an Ohio cemetery.

How did this Vermont widow come to be buried in Ohio? Did she travel west to live with a relative when her husband died?

(According to FindAGrave.com, there is a Joshua Bliss buried in their home county in Vermont who could be Nancy’s Joshua. Based on this admittedly flimsy information, it appears that Nancy came to Ohio as a widow.)
